Spring is here and that means pastels, flowy skirts and dresses, layering and showing a little skin. I feel with each season comes new go-to staple items for your closet. I go for pieces that act as my fashion compass, if you will. Pieces I can mix and match and always go to when I want effortless style. The 90s have been making a comeback and I am here for it. Read on to see the 4 spring looks I am in love with this season.
Dad Shirts
Anyone else love wearing menswear? I love mixing up baggy clothing with fitted pieces and men's clothing make for the perfect match. Cotton On has a beautiful selection of dad shirts. Pair with some baggy jeans, wear over bike shorts and a crop top, use as a cover up for your swimsuit - the options are endless. So, go raid your dad's closet. He probably won't notice anything is missing anyways, right?
Satin dresses
Satin dresses are so fun! You can dress it up or dress it down. Personally, my favorite pairing is a satin dress and some white sneakers. If you want a more dressy look, pair with booties or platform heels. Motel Rocks has great options however the one pictured to the left is no longer available in that color - check out their site for more options!
Maxi/Midi Skirts
I still have love for mini skirts and will continue to wear them but maxi and midi skirts have become my new fave. I love pairing them with a sweater on chilly days or nights, with a crop top or of course, my go to is to wear them with my Air Forces. This bodycon midi skirt pictured to the left is from Pinkyotto but I frequent Princess Polly for my pick of maxi and midi skirts.
Racer back tank tops
Who else remembers wearing these in high school? I was born in 1991 for reference. I love a good racer back tank but make it cropped. They legit go with everything and are easy to layer. Spring is the beginning of warm weather but normally you still run into a few chilly days and nights. Having pieces you are able to layer work perfectly for the season.
